Life in Antarctica
Antarctica is a beautiful, yet harsh environment. Without the correct equipment, a person could quite easily become lost or find themselves in a life threatening situation. Thankfully, you are one of the chosen invitees to be a part of the iTech team that is visiting the continent.
Your Mission:
You are to research and identify an area of survival equipment that is lacking or can be improved upon. You will invent, design and create a new piece of survival equipment, shelter or transport that can be readily used to help the scientists based at the Antarctic. Your design must be made using recycled goods gained from home and/or icy-pole and match sticks.
Think about:
How you would be affected, if you were to become lost or in danger in the Antarctic region. What do you feel that you would need in order to survive the harsh environmental conditions?
Criteria:
You must - include a written explanation of the purpose and function of your design in approximately 100 words
- create your design using recycled materials, icy-pole and match sticks
- create a design that is no larger than a shoe box in dimensions
- include all necessary features for it to fully work in real life (is not required to actually work)
Due Date: Friday Week 6
